Brief presentation
Eleonora Siarava is a performer, choreographer and dance researcher. She was born in Thessaloniki where she studied psychology and neurosciences. In 1999 she started taking classes in contemporary dance, contact improvisation and classical ballet. In 2010 she graduated with Distinction from Coventry University in UK acquiring an MA in “Dance Making and Performance”. As a performer she has worked for Meghan Flanigan in Making Space Festival (Coventry 2010) and also for Cathy Washbrooke in the Dance Summer School of the University of Bedfordshire (2010). Her teaching method combines somatic practices such as Body Mind Centering and Skinner Releasing with Limon technique and improvisation scores. Her research is related to neuroaesthetics, semiotics and philosophy of dance. As a choreographer she has presented her work in Make>Shift Festival (Coventry 2010) Moving Out Festival (Coventry 2010), Espacio 3-Kodra Festival (Thessaloniki 2011), ContACT#3 – Cross my Art Festival (Thessaloniki 2011) and she has collaborated with theatre companies in Greece and UK.
