Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga: A Meditation in Motion
Dylan happily rejoins the Yoga Armonia sangha for his fifth visit to Thessaloniki!
During this joy filled weekend, we'll work diligently to get the highest benefits that Ashtanga has to offer. The asana practices will be whole, challenging and informative and will compliment your personal yoga practice of any style. The details of alignment will be explored simultaneously with the philosophy that makes Ashtanga such a traditional and rewarding Yoga system. Come and enjoy the infinite possibilities within Ashtanga. It will be a great time!!!
Friday & Thursday 2hrs classes - All Levels Master Classes
Enjoy an evening of guided Ashtanga that graces many main elements of a complete practice. We'll take a look at vinyasa styles, flowing with the breath, application of the bandhas, basic pranayama as well as floating into the dynamic meditation that is Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
Saturday 4hrs workshop-Where Hatha Yoga Meets Raja Yoga
For a few thousand years the term Ashtanga has referred to the meditation system of Patanjali. Now we often use the word when talking about the asana system of Shri K Pattabhi Jois. Where do these seemingly separate yogas meet? On the mat and in your mind, says Dylan.
This day will feature a complete traditional pranayama sequence, a full Ashtanga practice and some lively discussion of Patanjali and yoga philosophy.
Sunday 4hrs workshop-Health, Happiness ... and Beyond!
Dylan will take this Sunday opportunity to liberally apply the teachings of Ashtanga. We'll enjoy the traditional sequence as well as workshopping some more challenging and instructive aspects, such as backbends and inversions. Pranayama, Philosophy and Ayurveda will be in the mix too as we explore the relationship between the physical and the subtle.

About Dylan
Dylan Bernstein had the fortune to be introduced to Yoga and Zen meditation early in his teenage years. Since his initial submersion in Yoga, he has called upon the practice to still the mind, engage the body and nurture the soul. He also continued to study philosophies and cultures and moved to Asia in 2001. During a year in India, he encountered Vijay Amar, was introduced to the system of Ashtanga Yoga and was trained to teach. Since then, Dylan has been living in Vietnam, where he continues to study, practice, and teach regular classes and workshops. He has had the opportunity to study under Tim Miller, Prem Carlisi, Paddy McGrath, Noah Williams, Clayton Horton, Christopher Gladwell, Vijay Amar, and the Venerable Thay Huyen Dieu.
Dylan has also been fortunate enough to learn from attending classes taught by Alex Medin, Vinnie Marino, Annie Carpenter, Marika Cominos, Bryan Kest, Casey Palmer, Patricia Romero and Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and Family. The Ashtanga Vinyasa practices coupled with sitting meditation continue to be the foundation of his understanding and his teaching.
